Eight studios. One delegation. San Francisco, March 2025.
Games from Turkiye returned to GDC for its second consecutive year, and the difference a year of experience makes was visible from the first day. The structure stayed the same: TOGED and Bilkent Cyberpark leading the delegation, Ministry of Trade providing institutional backing. What changed was the depth of what that structure could actually deliver.
Setimedia handled the full operational side, organizing attendance, logistics, booth setups, and matchmaking for all eight studios in the delegation. That coordination work is less visible than the meetings it enables, but it's what makes those meetings happen on schedule and without friction.
The group-level access was the real story this year. Beyond individual studio schedules, the delegation secured meetings with Google, Amplitude, Amazon, and Xsolla. These aren't conversations a single studio walks into at GDC. At delegation scale, with TOGED's institutional presence behind the ask, they become achievable. Setimedia also used the week to meet with international partners, associations, and institutions to discuss where the Turkiye and MENA industries are heading, conversations that feed back into everything else we do.
GDC drew 30,000 professionals again. PocketGamer Connects was back on the itinerary, covering mobile to VR, with AI and web3 sessions growing in weight. The Turkish Embassy visited the delegation during the conference week, which wasn't a ceremonial gesture. It reflected how far the program has traveled in twelve months, from a first-time coordinated presence to something that foreign service officials consider worth showing up for.
That's the arc of Games from Turkiye at GDC: one year to establish the flag, one year to start building on it.
