Path of Exile 2 hit Early Access in December 2024 and within days it was everywhere. The discourse was loud, the player numbers were serious, and the ARPG conversation shifted around it almost immediately. So when Grinding Gear Games started previewing the first major content update, Dawn of the Hunt, Setimedia moved quickly. Setimedia Co-Founder Tugbek Olek sat down with game director Jonathan Rogers for a full interview, published on Oyungezer.
The centerpiece of the update is the Huntress, a spear-wielding class that mixes melee and ranged combat and, by design, doesn't forgive careless play. She's fragile. She punishes passivity and rewards players who think about positioning rather than just stacking output. Jonathan was direct about where this comes from: the Early Access launch made it clear that single-button builds had become too dominant. The Spark Mage moment was hard to miss. Dawn of the Hunt, at least in part, is a response to that. The rebalancing across the board carries some weight.
The class is the headline, but the update goes deeper. Over 100 new Unique items land with a focus on endgame players who've already worked through the existing content. The map layer gets busier too. Wisps can now infect rare enemies and alter how they behave. New Strongbox variants are in. Rogue Exiles roam freely and can show up anywhere. The design intent is clear: maps should feel less predictable, more alive. Jonathan also mentioned there's a large backlog of creatures that haven't made it into the game yet, which predictably sent the community into full speculation mode within hours.
Setimedia handled the interview coordination and recording logistics, and worked with Oyungezer to make sure Turkish ARPG players got the full picture, not just the highlights. The complete interview is up at oyungezer.com.tr.
