Kristal Piksel has always been about the games. This year, it became about the people making them too.
Organized by Setimedia in collaboration with Turkiye Innovation Week 2025, the first official side event in Kristal Piksel's history was a full-day Unreal Engine Masterclass. Three sessions, three studios, one shared thread: practitioners who are actually shipping games, teaching the craft from first-hand experience.
Leartes Studios opened the day with environment design. If you work in UE asset creation, you know the name. They are among the most recognized studios globally for Unreal Engine environments, so the session started at a high level and stayed there. Motion Blur followed with a look at the technical side of their work on Black State, one of the most demanding real-time graphics projects coming out of this region. Then Evren Ozguner from Clock Wizard Games closed the day by walking through the lighting techniques behind Demonologist, one of the most commercially successful PC games to come out of Turkiye, and how Unreal Engine makes that specific kind of atmospheric horror work at scale.
Close to 200 people attended in person. That number matters because the masterclass had no big marketing push behind it. The demand came from people already looking for exactly this: technical education delivered by studios that have been through it, not theorists.
The full recording is now available on TOGED's YouTube channel.
For Kristal Piksel, this was a first. It will not be the last.
