First Look at Dark and Darker Mobile in Seoul

A few days ago we joined KRAFTON in Gangnam for an extended hands-on with Dark and Darker Mobile, meeting its producer Joonseok Ahn and getting a clear sense of how this ambitious title is taking shape. Six months earlier we had played a much earlier build during a conversation with Publishing Senior Director Rafael Lim, but this new session showed just how far the game has come.
The setting helped too. From a high-floor office overlooking the city, KRAFTON hosted a small group of international media for hours of dungeon runs, co-op chaos, and follow-up interviews. It felt far from a typical press stop, with space for real gameplay, candid questions, and a close look at the localization work that now includes Turkish from day one, a thoughtful inclusion given the size and energy of the player base in Türkiye.
Play Sessions, Localization and Insight from the Team
For setimedia, the goal was to ensure our coverage could capture both the game’s evolving mechanics and the thinking behind them. We coordinated schedules with other attending writers, balanced playtime with interview access, and worked closely with KRAFTON to confirm Turkish-language gameplay capture so our audience could see the difference first-hand.
In conversation, Joonseok Ahn explained the blending of genres; battle royale, dungeon crawling, action RPG and why extraction remains central despite its high-stakes tension. He detailed upcoming features like companion pets and AI mercenaries, designed to ease the intensity while deepening replay value. We also discussed cooperative modes that challenge alliances in unexpected ways, such as a 3-player dungeon where escape is solo, not shared.
Media Reaction and What’s Next
The response among invited press was warm and engaged. Familiar mechanics have been reworked for mobile, while new systems like merchant relations and cross-class loot usability kept sessions lively. Localization drew particular praise, with several noting the benefit of fully understanding item stats and quest details in their own language.
While no release date is set, KRAFTON signaled plans for Türkiye to be part of the next public play-test. That will be the community’s chance to experience the expanded modes, new AI allies, and refined difficulty balance we previewed.
We thank KRAFTON for the access and openness, and our fellow media for the spirited co-op and arena runs. From what we’ve seen, Dark and Darker Mobile is shaping up to be a dense, tense and surprisingly welcoming entry in the extraction space and we look forward to meeting players back in its dungeons soon.
