Honoring Creativity at Kristal Piksel 2015
Five days ago, the gaming community gathered at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University’s Fındıklı Campus for the 2015 Kristal Piksel Video Game Awards. Since 2012, this annual celebration has championed locally developed games and the talented teams behind them. In its fourth year, the event drew over fifty submissions, with seven titles competing for the coveted Game of the Year. The ceremony also recognized excellence in Original Music, Visual and Audio Art, Innovation, and Narrative, bringing together developers, academics, press, and industry leaders.
Coordinating voices and moments that matter
Working alongside the Digital Game Developers Association, ODTÜ GATE, ODTÜ TEKNOKENT ATOM, and with the support of IGDA, setimedia helped shape the ceremony’s presence in and beyond the auditorium. Our role spanned the flow of communications before, during, and after the event; ensuring that creators, media, and audiences stayed connected. We coordinated with jurors and speakers to balance the program’s pace, provided clear access to press outlets on-site, and kept community updates timely for those following remotely.
From the opening cocktail at 14:30 to the final award announcement, we aimed to capture not just the winners but the energy in the room. Coverage reached both specialist gaming media and mainstream outlets, amplifying the profiles of the nominated studios. The audience, both in person and online, responded with genuine enthusiasm, sharing highlights, snapshots, and heartfelt congratulations across social platforms.
Looking ahead with the community
Beyond awards, the day hosted announcements set to influence Turkey’s gaming landscape in 2016, including new collaborations and initiatives that will expand the reach of local developers internationally. While the details shared remain the property of our partners, the tone was one of optimism and ambition.
