Path of Exile 2: A Closer Look at “Dawn of the Hunt”

Last week, we joined Path of Exile 2’s first major update preview, “Dawn of the Hunt,” where our own Tuğbek Ölek sat down with game director Jonathan Rogers. The session offered both hands-on gameplay and direct insight into how Grinding Gear Games is shaping the next stage of early access.
Setimedia coordinated the interview timing, balanced on-site recording with uninterrupted player sessions, and worked with Oyungezer to ensure Jonathan’s comments reached the Turkish ARPG community with the right nuance. The full conversation can be read here: Jonathan Rogers Exclusive Interview.
The update introduces the Huntress, a spear-based hybrid class that blends melee and ranged play but demands careful positioning due to low defenses. Jonathan confirmed significant rebalancing to move away from “one-button” builds like Spark Mage, while adding over 100 new Unique items aimed mostly at endgame. Layered mechanics—such as Wisps infecting rare enemies, new Strongboxes, and roaming Rogue Exiles—are designed to make maps unpredictable and keep players on their toes.
The reveal drew immediate coverage, with the Oyungezer piece gaining traction across Turkish and international fan circles. Players were especially intrigued by Jonathan’s hint at a large backlog of creatures waiting to be added, sparking speculation about future updates.
Setimedia is proud to have helped bring this exchange to the community in an authentic, timely way. Our thanks go to Grinding Gear Games, Jonathan Rogers, and the players whose passion keeps Path of Exile evolving.
